The Jharkhand High Court today quashed the FIR registered against BJP-MPs Manoj Tiwari and Nishikant Dubey in Deoghar.
The Deoghar district administration had registered an FIR on September 1 last year after the duo accompanied by seven allegedly forced air traffic control to grant clearance for take-off in the evening hours of August 31, even though there is no “night take-off or landing facility” at the Deoghar airport.
An FIR was registered at the Kunda police station on the complaint of security in-charge Suman Anand, who said he violated all “safety standards” by entering the ATC room and pressurizing the officials to get permission to take off.
Nine people, including MPs — Dubey and Tiwari — and the airport director were booked under IPC sections 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 447 (punishment for trespass), 448 (punishment for trespass to house).
Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi passed the order after hearing the argument of MP's advocate Prashant Pallava and administration's lawyer Sachin Kumar.
